Mary F. Buffinger, 91, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 4, 2022, in her home. Born on May 26, 1930 in South Webster, she was a daughter of the late William and Okie Adams Hanes.
In earlier years, Mary was one of the biggest supporters of the East High School Band and was a former treasurer for many years of the band boosters. In those days, the band was very large and she made sure that there were sufficient funds for all of the needs. But above all else, she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 67 years, Albert J. Buffinger, Sr.
Surviving are two sons, Phillip (Tammy) Buffinger of Lucasville and Albert J. (Andrea) Buffinger, Jr. of Sciotoville; a daughter, Debbie Buffinger of Wheelersburg; four special grandchildren, Laura Simcoe, Mary Ann (Keith) Boggs, Jeffrey (Amber) Buffinger and Dustin Buffinger and her darling great-grandchildren, Elliot, Parker and Taylor.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 10th, at Wheelersburg Cemetery with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East High School Band.
A procession will leave the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
