Mildred Eileen Wolfe, 94, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in Lawrence, Kansas. Born on February 1, 1923 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Garret and Winnie Thompson Holcomb. Also preceding her in death were her husband, William Virgil Wolfe, and brothers, George E. Holcomb and Mervin L. Holcomb. Millie was Class Valedictiorian at Glenwood High School, was a dental assistant, secretary, wife, mother and homemaker. She volunteered as a Republican precinct captain and appeared in a televison commercial for a local pharmacy in Dayton. Millie had a life-long devotion to children of all ages and was a member of Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren in Kettering.
Surviving are a son, The Right Reverend Dean Elliott Wolfe of NY, NY; daughter-in-law, Ellen Marie Frantz Wolfe; grandson, William Jacob Wolfe of Washington, DC; a sister, Virginia Oliver of Minford and many nieces and nephews.
A Service of Burial will be held on Thursday, June 29th, at All Saint's Episcopal Church with interment in Memorial Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to The Sisters of the Transfiguration, 495 Albion Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Brant Funeral Service in Sciotoville.
