It is with great sadness to announce that on August 15th, 2024, our beloved, Richard K. Cooley, 66, of Sciotoville, OH, passed while surrounded by family. He is reunited with his parents, Richard and Charlene Cooley, as well as his sister, Nancy Odle Multer Carmichael and brother, Steven Odle. Left to cherish his memory are his treasured wife of 45 years, Cathy Cooley, who shares with him a love few get to experience. His legacy of “light hitting middle infielders” includes a son, Aaron (Amber) Cooley, of Milford, OH and daughter, Jayma (Shane) Jenkins of Franklin Furnace, OH. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Ava Jenkins, Riddick Jenkins, and Evie Jenkins, Rustin Cooley and Caden Cooley. Richard co-owned West End Carryout in Portsmouth along with his parents for many years. He was something of a legend in his career with Pepsi Cola, where he was a driver for 39 years. Many of his closest friends were met through his work. He also says he was a lumberjack for a short time. Richard was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, as well as NASCAR. He was a man of quiet faith, unmatched strength, and wit. He was deservingly proud of the fruits of his labor, and we are grateful to have shared our lives with such a man.
A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21st, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Brian Enz officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
