Richard Ray Keith Martin, 55, of Portsmouth, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born August 10, 1956 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Raymond and June Noel Martin and grew up in Sciotoville. A current employee of OSCO Industries for the past 34 years, “Wimpy” was also preceded in death by a very special uncle, Clarence “Bud” Martin and a nephew, Craig Allen Louderback. Surviving are a son, Justin McNelly and his mother, Karen McNelly who was always there for him, four sisters, Loretta Bradford (Everett Wright), Benita (Bill) Litz, Patricia (Greg) Louderback and Linda (Rick) Yager, 2 nephews, 8 nieces, 5 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews. “Wimpy” also leaves behind two very special friends, Dink and Deb, and his faithful companion that he loved dearly, his dog Rock. A funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN PORTSMOUTH with Pastor Jason Koch officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Portsmouth 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Sierra’s Haven.
