Robert Harrod

Robert Francis Harrod, 72, of Portsmouth, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born on December 8, 1938 in Muncie, IN, the son of the late Vernon and Opal Shively Harrod. Robert was a retired self-employed trucker and a member of the Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Snyder Harrod, two sons, Adam (Wendy) Harrod of Yorktown, IN and Scott Robert (Sherri) Harrod of Goshen, IN, one daughter, Michelle (Greg) Hershman of Yorktown, IN, one step-daughter, Jacqueline (Doug) Larrow of Temperance, MI, grandchildren, Dustin Whitehair, Westley Whitehair, Matthew Harrod, and Jessica Pearcy, granddaughter, Cassidy Harrod, step-granddaughters, Amber Mikolajczyk, Ashley Larrow, Morgan Hershman and Megan Hershman, great-grandson, Robbie Harrod, step grandsons, Eric Hershman, and Ryan Hershman, step great-granddaughter, Jordan Mikolajczyk, one cousin, Vicki Holler, and several other cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Rev. Garry Proehl officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
