Riley Sam Sink, 85, of North Moreland, died Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Hill View Retirement Center surrounded by his family. Born on January 28, 1938 in Kokomo, Indiana, he was a son of the late Frank and Eva Johnson Sink and was an avid attendee of The Rock Church.
Sam was a 1955 graduate of Ashland High School, a retired insurance agent from Prudential with 33 years of service and retired from the Board of Elections with 10 years of service.
He loved fishing with his best friend, Scott Luther and mixed league bowling and traveling with Ruthmary.
Also preceding him in death was a son, Britt Sink, and a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Tom Cooper.
Surviving are his wife, Ruthmary Nolan Sink; two sons, Jon Sink of Louisville and Keith (Myrna) Wamsley of Wheelersburg; three daughters, Kim Trahan of Louisville, KY, Debbie Hutchinson of Franklin Furnace and Kathy Purdy of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren, Brian Hutchinson, Brad (Angie) Hutchinson, Brandon (Becca) Hutchinson, Lynnsey (Todd) Holland, Amanda Purdy, Michael (Missy) Purdy, Alex (Sarg) Wamsley, Adam Wamsley and Sammy Sink; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his “best friend”, Scott Luther.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at The Rock Church with Pastor Rick Clark officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 on Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sam’s memory to The Rock Church.
