Shirley Dempsey

Shirley A. Dempsey, 70, of Sciotoville, died peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2017, at the SOMC Hospice Center with her family by her bedside. Born on October 13, 1946 in Sciotoville, she was a daughter of the late Wince and Essie Messer Howard, was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Dempsey on July 17, 2008, nine brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Valerie) Dempsey of Sciotoville and Guy (Sharli) Dempsey of Wheelersburg; a daughter, Sherry (Kevin) Thacker of Sciotoville; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE. Interment will be in the Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
