Thelma Gayhart

Thelma Christine Gayhart , 88, of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the Best Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born on December 6, 1924 in Greenup County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Maude Allen Boggs.  Thelma was a member of the Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union, former operator at General Telephone, former co-owner of Ecks Market in Sciotoville and a retired cashier at Mercy Hospital.  Also preceding her in death were her husband, Claude Estel Gayhart in 1971, four brothers, Wilbur, Robert, Ernest, and Bud Boggs and two sisters, Gladys Liles and Lenny Ferrell.  Surviving are two sons, Paul “Mick” (Brenda) Gayhart of Wheelersburg and Estel (Connie) Gayhart of Portsmouth, a brother, Finnest Boggs of Sciotoville, two sisters, Millie Hurst and Juanita Wallace, both of Wheelersburg, three grandchildren, Kelli Weber, Christopher Jones, and Bethany Greenhill, and five great-grandchildren.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Gary Heimbach officiating.  Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.  Thelma Gayhart, 88, of Sciotoville, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Best Care Rehab and Nursing Center in Wheelersburg.  Arrangements are pending at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville.
