Virginia Basham

Zaidee Virginia Basham, 89, of New Albany, IN, formerly of Sciotoville, died Friday, August 27, 2010, in New Albany. Born November 16, 1920 in Ashland, KY, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Esther Christian Castle and was a member of the Sciotoville Christian Church. Virginia was also preceded in death by her husband, William Wesley Basham, brothers, Gerald, Ben and Bill Castle, and a sister, Faye Morris. Surviving are a son, Bill (Barbara) Basham of Louisville, KY; a daughter, Judy (Willie Eskridge) Basham of Louisville, KY; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from 6-8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
