Wanda Lee Hurt, 75, of Portsmouth, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 2, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on November 7, 1936 in New Boston, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Bessie Dalton Adkins. Wanda worked at the K&M Restaurant, where she managed and served many loyal customers for 45 years. She was a hard worker who enjoyed and loved the people she worked with and served. She was also a server at Bob Evans Restaurant, where she later retired. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Alfred P. Hurt and her siblings, Leonard Adkins and Betty Blake. She is survived by three daughters, Karen McCallister and her husband John of Stout, Teresa Hurt and Kimberly Benner, both of Portsmouth; five grandchildren, Michelle (Michael) Williams of Portsmouth, Jennifer (Brett) Stacey of Gahanna, Jason Hurt and Brandon Hurt, both of Portsmouth and Makenzie Young of Symmes Valley; and three great-grandchildren, Peighton, Isabella, and Carson Williams. Wanda also leaves behind many nieces, a nephew and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN PORTSMOUTH. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Portsmouth from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
