William F. Essman, 82, of Sciotoville, died Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born on February 14, 1934 in Sciotoville, he was a son of the late William C. and Margaret Will Essman and was a purchasing agent for Aristech.
Bill was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and was a former accounting instructor at Shawnee State University and Wilmington College.
As a proud American, he served his country in the United States Army.
Surviving are his wife, Delores Hacker Essman, two sons, William Scott (Donna) Essman of Sharon Township and Stephen (Lori) Essman of Cincinnati; three daughters, Sharon Graham of Columbus, Susan Marie (Matt) Mitchell of Casper, Wyoming and Shawna (Robert) Chargo of Columbus; two brothers, Joseph (Billie Jo) Essman of Athens and Larry (Loretta) Essman of Portsmouth; five grandchildren, Ashley, Jimmy, Heather, Corrine and Caylee and a great-granddaughter, Annie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Smith as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
