William Gilpin, Jr., 70, of Sciotoville, died Sunday, March 11, 2018, at the SOMC Hospice Center after a sudden illness. Born on June 9, 1947 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late William Gilpin, Sr. and Louella Havens Gilpin.
Junior was a graduate of East High School and was a proud Army veteran of the Viet Nam War Era.
Also preceding him in death was a sister, Nancy Denney.
Surviving are a brother, Paul Gilpin of Sciotoville, and two nephews, Doug Denney of Wheelersburg and Scott Denney of Columbus.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Terry Dingess officiating. Interment will be in Bailey’s Chapel Cemetery in Wakefield.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
