William Kendall Hammond

William Kendall Hammond, 70, died Sunday, June 4, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loving family.  Born on February 8, 1953 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late William Kendall and Rosemary Walter Hammond. 

Bill was a retired maintenance mechanic for OSCO and was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, Dana Vinson Hammond, three sons, Scott “Randy” (Noreen) Hammond of South Shore, KY, Ensign William Andrew (Lauren) Hammond, serving with the U.S. Navy in Corpus Christi, TX and Joshua David Hammond of Haverhill; a daughter, Kaitlin (Alexander) Hammond-Hunter of Denver, CO; two sisters, Patti (Earl) Applegate of Portsmouth and Barbara (Del) Hebb of Fruitland Park, FL; two very special grandchildren, Ester Rene Hammond and Berno Alexander Hammond and, of course, we can’t forget his beloved canines, Arlo and Gunther.

A service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8^th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE.

The family will receive guests from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
