William R. Moore, 82, of Sciotoville, died peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Community Hospice in Ashland, KY. Born on June 7, 1935 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late William and Erma Pack Moore, was a self-employed furniture restorer, and of the Baptist faith.
Bill enjoyed gardening and loved to hunt. He and Sandy enjoyed setting on the porch watching the wildlife.
Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Dianna Sue Webb; brothers, Lowell and Albert Moore and sisters, Carol Moore, Vada Moore and Delores Charles.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra Williams Moore; three sons, Henry Lee (Sandy Crawford) Slusher and Anthony Dean (Linda) Slusher, all of Lucasville and Rodney Ray Slusher of Sciotoville; two daughters, Billie Kay (David) Norris and Ann Marie (Brett Basham) Dunn, all of Sciotoville; a son-in-law, Jerry Webb of Sciotoville; a brother, Walter Moore of Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Chaplain Randy Tate officiating. Interment will be in Harrison Furnace Cemetery.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s after 12:00 noon on Tuesday.
